Are Helicopter Parents Only an Urban Legend?
In a recent op-ed, author Alfie Kohn classifies helicopter parents as an urban legend on college campuses. While the statistics he cites show that not every Boomer and Xer is hovering over their children, he neglects to note that such doting behavior was virtually nonexistent when these older generations were in school.
