About 93% of all new student loan dollars proffered to undergraduates this academic year were co-signed by a parent or other adults, up from 74% a decade ago. Soaring tuition costs and closer parent-child bonds, combined with tighter loan limits enacted post-2008, mean that Boomers are increasingly stuck paying for college well into their golden years.
