According to a poll of 6,000 WSJ readers, the average respondent has 3 or 4 online “mini-subscriptions” (for example, Netflix or Spotify)—and over one-third have between 5 and 8. Whether it’s TV, movies, or music, today’s consumers would much rather rent than own their favorite entertainment.
