General Mills will remove artificial ingredients from all cereals by the end of 2017, and will instead use spice extracts like turmeric and annatto to achieve vibrant colors. To reverse cereal’s long slide, the company is opting to go natural—just like the granola bars and yogurt that have taken its market share.
