Google Violates European Data Regulations
France has fined Google nearly $57 million in the first major penalty under Europe’s new data-privacy laws. The fine addresses only a portion of a complaint whose penalties could total more than $4.7 billion, presaging even tougher times to come for an already-bruised Silicon Valley.
