The graying of many youth hubs—such as Portland, Austin, Denver, and Charlotte—is leaving demographers perplexed. The most convincing explanation is that these areas are cheap, both for young people and retirees, but a more entertaining theory is that aging Boomer parents are actually following their Millennial children there.
