“Hackathons” on the Rise
Around the country, the number of intercollegiate “hackathons” is rising fast as students compete to show off their skills and win cash prizes up to $1 million. According to participants, however, what motivates them most aren’t the potential awards, but the fun of coding in a social environment and the chance to learn from fellow students.
