The nation’s high schools are crowning more and more valedictorians—with one D.C.-area school giving 117 out of 457 seniors the title this year. School officials say that this practice celebrates teamwork and alleviates pressure, but detractors scoff that the “everyone gets a trophy” mindset waters down achievement.
