Leading Cause of Death in High-Income Countries: Cancer, not Heart Disease
Cancer has overtaken heart disease as the leading cause of death in high-income countries. Though heart disease remains the leading cause of death worldwide, new research indicates that this is likely to change within a few decades as successful treatments continue to bring down its mortality rates.
