It’s not just Nevada: Since 2014, Maryland’s three largest casinos have cut slot machines by 16%, replacing them with table games and other entertainment to draw Millennials. With the decline of slots, however, comes a worrisome hit in state revenue; slots are taxed at rates about 30 percentage points higher than those of table games.
