U.S. adults ages 22 to 39 report the highest average stress levels of any age group. When it comes to the impact of stress, however, the youngest Americans take the lead: More than one-quarter of 15- to 21-year-olds (27%) rate their mental health as fair or poor, by far the highest share of any age group.
