It appears that many older Boomers are finally retiring: The labor force participation rate for the 65+ dropped a full percentage point in Q4 2016. But this LFP decline may not last: Increasingly, Boomers moving past age 65 will be lower-SES individuals who won’t be able to afford retirement.
