Nearly half of consumers (49%)—and a full 60% of Millennials—are eating fast food less often because they’re buying more prepared meals. Not only are fast-food giants battling for consumers willing to splurge on fast-casual, but now they’re also fighting for shoppers who would rather just grab a fresh, ready-to-eat meal at the grocery store.
