Neil Howe Maintains that 1982 Is the First Millennial Birth Year

Despite confusion over the date separating Gen Xers and Millennials, leaving many young people in their 30s unsure what generation they belong to, Neil Howe maintains that 1982 is the first Millennial birth year.  Millennials tended to have more positive experiences in their youth because in the ‘80s “there was a sharp change in how kids were treated.”
