Only 33% of 18- to 29-year-olds have a credit card—barely half of the share of 50- to 64-year-olds who carry plastic (62%). According to one Millennial, her generation openly avoids credit cards: “Growing up I was warned of the risks of having a credit card and advised to put off getting one as long as possible.”
