The Share of New HIV Cases in People Older than 50 Is Rising

In 2014, nearly 17% of new HIV cases occurred in people older than age 50—up from 15.4% in 2005. Although young adults make up the bulk of new cases, Boomers’ unsafe sexual practices appear to be adding to their health problems as they move up the age ladder.
