Over the past decade, the smoking rate for 18- to 29-year-olds dropped 12 percentage points to 22%. Although young people used to be more likely to smoke than their elders, antismoking campaigns and Millennials’ risk aversion have made them no more likely to light up than Xers and last-wave Boomers.
