U.S. Fertility Passes Another (Ominous) Milestone

Provisional data indicate that the number of births in the United States declined for a fourth consecutive year in 2018, falling to the lowest level since 1986. The U.S. total fertility rate declined as well in 2018, driven by the continued baby bust among all age brackets under 35.
