U.S. Gains 4.4 Million “Nonemployer” Businesses

According to new Census data, the nation gained 4.4 million “nonemployer” businesses between 2003 and 2013. Much of the surge comes from the new popularity of self-employed part-time work, the kind many “permalancing” Xers and Millennials use to get by.
