U.S. Life Expectancy Drops Again
The official figures are in: U.S. life expectancy at birth dropped to 78.6 years in 2017, while age-adjusted mortality rose YoY for the second time in three years. As we predicted, the increase was driven by a boom in “deaths of despair,” from fatal drug overdoses to suicides.
