U.S. Life Expectancy Rose For The First Time in Years

In 2018, U.S. life expectancy rose for the first time in four years, ticking up about a month to 78.7 years. Much of the increase was driven by a decline in deaths from cancer, as well as a 4% decrease in deaths from drug overdoses.
