White-collar workers ages 25 to 34 spend 6.4 hours a day checking e-mails, much longer than the time spent by the 35+ (5 hours a day). Millennials’ round-the-clock devotion to their employers is a key contributor: Just 11% of 25- to 34-year-olds say they never check work e-mails outside of the office.
