Demographic specialist Ken Gronbach recently assessed Wisconsin’s shortage of skilled workers: They’re too white, and they’re too old. He’s right: Xers (the Baby Bust generation) make up the majority of their workforce; without increased immigration and/or higher birthrates, the state seems destined to economically stagnate.
