A new analysis shows that one-third of U.S. adults who voted for Mitt Romney in 2012 did not vote for Donald Trump in 2016. “Defections” from the GOP were most common among younger Millennial voters, who were put off by Trump’s divisive rhetoric and his protectionist stance on immigration and trade.
